The Contingency Fund
The Contingency Fund exists to provide funds for new clubs or societies. A new club or society must firstly become an affiliated SSCSU club or society which must be done by an Open Meeting motion. Once this has been passed the club may apply to the Junior Treasurer for funding from the contingency fund. The allocation of funds is at the discretion of the Junior Treasurer.
In determining how much money to release from the fund the Junior Treasurer shall have regard to the following circumstances: the length of time before the commencement of a new financial year (the Junior Treasurer may insist in cases, where the start of the new financial year is imminent, that the new club must apply along with existing clubs for funds for the next financial year); the amount of funds requested; the fiscal position of the fund and the number of students likely to be involved.
All allocations shall be subject to the approval of an open meeting. The resolution authorising the allotment must be submitted by the respective captain to the Open Meeting via the Vice President in accordance with the current procedural regulations.
