Hi, I’m Caitlin and I’m the SSCSU Access Officer; it’s my job to offer a student perspective to people who are considering applying to our lovely little college. You’ll see me on Open Days and at the front desk during interviews in December. Anyone is welcome to contact me with any question at all about student life (however small or silly!) and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. You can do that on Twitter @SSCSUAccess or via email on firstname.lastname@example.org – also be sure to check out the official college website for more information!
What’s life like at Sidney?
Students in Sidney (or ‘college’ as we call it!) are either undergraduates or postgraduates and although people generally make their closest friends in their own academic year, there’s lots of opportunity to mix through sports, chatting in Sidney bar, and just generally living as part of such a tight-knit community. Usually, if you’re a student at Sidney you have little chance of walking through college for 2 minutes without bumping into someone you know. That said, there’s always space and time to catch a few minutes to yourself if you need to!
In this section of the website, we have information on the different subjects on offer at Sidney as well as a ‘typical day’ for an average Science or Arts undergraduate – all told entirely by real life Sidney students! With a click you can also find the recently updated Alternative Prospectus for Sidney, put together by students just for you!
Below is an admissions video giving a tour of Sidney, so take a peek if you want to look inside the college! Hopefully an updated version will be on the way soon…
